The new Nissan Stadium is a fully enclosed, climate-controlled NFL venue on the East Bank of the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee, and the future home of the Tennessee Titans. The roughly 1.8-million-square-foot, 60,000-seat stadium is designed by MANICA as lead design architect with TVS as architect of record, and built by the Tennessee Builders Alliance, a Turner Construction and AECOM Hunt joint venture with Polk and Associates and ICF Builders. Its defining element is a translucent ETFE cable-supported roof that floods the bowl with daylight while sealing the field from Middle Tennessee weather, making the venue usable year-round for concerts, college football, international soccer and major championship events. At a $2.1 billion budget, including $1.26 billion in public money, it is the largest stadium subsidy in United States history and the anchor of Nashville's broader East Bank redevelopment, a riverfront district masterplanned around new housing, parks and transit connections across from downtown. The seating bowl is drawn tighter and steeper than the outgoing stadium it replaces next door, with expanded club levels, field-level suites and a wraparound concourse designed to keep the field in view, and the building is positioned to host a Super Bowl and Final Four.
