Apgujeong Hyundai

Apgujeong Hyundai is the planned reconstruction of Apgujeong District 2, the 1982 Shin Hyundai apartments (blocks 9, 11 and 12) on the Han River in Apgujeong-dong, the most prized residential address in Seoul's Gangnam district. Hyundai E&C, the builder of the original complex, holds the contract to demolish the existing 1,924 units and replace them with fourteen towers of up to 65 floors carrying 2,571 homes across a 192,910-square-metre site, laid out so that every association member's unit faces the river. The scheme lifts the towers on 14-metre pilotis around a central "100-Year Forest" garden, gives homes 2.9-metre ceilings, and adds a 42,500-square-metre Club Apgujeong community wing. Hyundai is also pitching it as Korea's first robot-friendly residential complex, with autonomous shuttles and robotic valet parking built into the plan.
