Broke ground Jul 27, 2026 est.LOW-confidence stall demotion for human review: CTBUH Skyscraper Center lists Diamond Tower (Burj Almasa, 432m, 94 fl, Jeddah) as ON HOLD, and no established outlet reports site activity 2024-2026, but Wikipedia still says under construction and the CTBUH page 403s on direct fetch (status confirmed only via search index). Conflicting sources = LOW, so this stays a proposal. If approved, the project moves back to breaking-ground (ground broke Jan 2010, active construction unverified). Recorded 2028 delivery is also doubtful if the hold is real.

Project update Sep 2026Garuda's Saudi arm signs EPC MoU for the Jeddah twisting tower: Dream City Builders, formerly Garuda Arabia and a wholly owned subsidiary of India's Garuda Construction and Engineering, signed a memorandum of understanding with Almasarat covering the full engineering, procurement and construction scope through finishing and handover, a build valued at about $191 million over a five-year run from commencement.

About the project

Diamond Tower, also known as Burj Almasa, is a 93-story supertall planned for the Ash Shati district on the Jeddah waterfront in Saudi Arabia. Designed by Buroj Engineering Consultant for Al-Masarat for Construction, the tower twists a full 360 degrees along its height, giving nearly every level a different angle on the Red Sea. A five-star hotel of roughly 350 keys occupies the lower floors beneath the residences above, structured parking is tucked into the podium and served by vehicle ramps, and a diamond-shaped restaurant crowns the top floor. Dream City Builders, the Saudi arm of Garuda Construction and Engineering, holds the engineering, procurement and construction mandate for the roughly 153,451 square metre build.
