About the project

Rising 39 residential stories atop a five-story podium at 888 Ala Moana Boulevard, Ālia is a roughly 400-foot luxury condominium tower anchoring Block I of Honolulu's Our Kakaʻako master plan, a partnership of the Kobayashi Group and The MacNaughton Group on Kamehameha Schools land. Designed by San Francisco's WRNS Studio with interiors by The Vanguard Theory, the building is oriented to the trade winds with an undulating south façade and alternating floor-to-floor lanais that provide passive shading, cooling, and sweeping ocean and Diamond Head views. Its roughly 457 residences range from reserved-housing and market-rate one-bedrooms to two-bedroom lofts and three-bedroom homes, served by amenities including two infinity pools, a bowling alley, a movie theater, a pickleball court, and human and pet spas. One of the most sustainability-driven residential towers in Hawaii, Ālia is an all-electric building with a centralized chilled-water system, an extensive rooftop photovoltaic array, and the first greywater treatment system in a Hawaiian residential high-rise.
