South Beach Surfers Paradise

South Beach is a A$900 million wellness-led residential development on Surfers Paradise Boulevard on the Gold Coast. Designed by Bates Smart and drawing on modernist Miami architecture, it comprises two 37-storey towers above a shared six-level podium. The scheme delivers 394 one- to four-bedroom residences, each with wrap-around balconies and dual or triple-aspect living oriented to ocean, river and city outlooks. The developer bought the site carrying approval for more than 1,100 apartments and cut the density by around 65 per cent to prioritise floorplate size and design integrity. Amenity is built around wellness: two resort pools, a hammam, plunge pools, saunas, a gym, a grounding lawn, a co-working hub, library, cinema, barbecue terraces, subtropical gardens and a ground-floor restaurant, over four levels of parking.
