About the project

1710 Broadway is a 54-story, 633-foot hotel skyscraper rising at the northeast corner of Broadway and West 54th Street in Midtown Manhattan, a few blocks north of Times Square and a short walk from Central Park, Carnegie Hall and the Museum of Modern Art. The tower is developed by the Spanish hospitality group RIU Hotels and Resorts, which acquired the site from Extell Development, and designed by Moss Architects. It holds 673 guest rooms above a public-facing podium containing two 300-seat restaurants and a lounge bar, making it one of the largest single-brand hotels to be built in Midtown in years and RIU's flagship entry into the New York market. The curtain wall pairs opaque pale green glass spandrels with floor-to-ceiling windows, giving the slender Broadway frontage a soft tinted sheen that sets it apart from the clear glass and dark metal of its Midtown neighbors. The site sits directly on the Broadway theater and Columbus Circle corridor, with the 57th Street and Seventh Avenue subway station and the Times Square transit hub both within a few minutes on foot.
