ICA Miami Expansion

Scroll for details
The story so far

ICA Miami acquired the former de la Cruz Collection building on its own Design District block in 2024 and has appointed Gensler to lead its renovation, a 3-story building at 23 NE 41st Street set to finish in 2027.

The 30,000-square-foot building will hold eight new galleries across its first two floors, including the museum's first dedicated permanent collection galleries and the Knight Foundation Gallery for New Media, with a third floor for talks, performances and public programs. Gensler is reworking the facade and entrance with a transparent arrival sequence and renovating the outdoor areas with shaded courtyards and sculptural landscapes. The project is funded through a $40 million privately funded capital campaign.
