Alta Developers is building New River Central, also announced as Alta New River, on SW 6th Street two blocks from the New River Riverwalk and a short walk from Las Olas Boulevard, less than a mile from the Fort Lauderdale Brightline station, a 35-story tower with 400 residences at 100 SW 6th Street that broke ground in November 2026 and is set to finish in 2028.
The 35-story tower holds 400 rental apartments averaging about 840 square feet, with roughly 4,127 square feet of ground-floor retail. A parking garage of about 460 spaces forms the podium and is topped by an amenity deck with a resort-style pool, cabanas, an outdoor kitchen and barbecue area. Indoor amenities include a fitness center with dedicated Pilates and strength-training rooms, a co-working lounge, club rooms and a spa. Dorsky + Yue International is the architect, One Line Design Studio leads the interiors, Kaufman Lynn Construction is the general contractor and Greystar will manage the property. In November 2026, JVP Management provided a $140.2 million senior construction loan for the project, its third financing with Alta. It is Alta's third residential project in Fort Lauderdale.
