Oceanwide Plaza

Oceanwide Plaza is a roughly 1.5-million-square-foot mixed-use complex on the full block at 11th, Figueroa and Flower Streets in downtown Los Angeles' South Park, directly facing Crypto.com Arena, L.A. Live and the Los Angeles Convention Center. Three glass towers rise from a block-long retail podium: the tallest reaches 49 stories and was designed to stack an 184-room luxury hotel above residential floors, while two companion towers carry the bulk of the plan's 504 condominiums. The podium holds about 150,000 square feet of shops and restaurants, a landscaped rooftop park and a block-long LED media facade aimed at the arena district. Construction by the original Chinese developer stalled with the towers structurally complete but unclad, and the empty shells became one of the city's most visible landmarks when graffiti artists tagged dozens of floors. A joint venture of KPC Group and Lendlease has since acquired the site out of bankruptcy for about $517 million and plans to invest roughly $800 million more to complete it, with the City of Los Angeles studying hotel incentives to help bring the long-dormant towers back into use.
