The Dalí Museum Expansion
The Dalí Museum is planning its largest expansion since its landmark 2011 building opened, a $65 million, roughly 35,000-square-foot addition on the south side of the museum between the existing building and Dali Boulevard.
Official Website1 Dali Boulevard, St. Petersburg. Completing September 2028.
Designed and built by The Beck Group with Harvard Jolly/PBK and Yann Weymouth, the original building's architect, the addition carries a sculpted facade inspired by Dalí's work. Visitors climbing the museum's signature helical staircase will continue from the third-floor galleries into a new Great Hall, a flexible space for digital and immersive exhibitions by day that converts into an event venue for up to 400 guests at night. The plan also adds a learning center for K-12 and adult programs that seats up to 300, community event spaces and an expansive outdoor terrace with views over the downtown waterfront and Tampa Bay, while the existing gift shop and orientation areas are reconfigured. The museum stays open throughout construction.
