7700 W Courtney Campbell Causeway

The former Godfrey Hotel and Cabanas site at the foot of the Courtney Campbell Causeway is approved for a mixed-use redevelopment of roughly 936,000 square feet across three towers on a 6.6-acre bayfront parcel. An 18-story north tower combines a 275-room hotel planned as a Curio Collection by Hilton property with residences, restaurants and rooftop amenities, flanked by two 16-story residential towers, for 503 homes in total. Earlier filings by developer Equicor, with Gensler as architect, described a branded component of some 54 branded residences alongside branded and market-rate apartments. The plan replaces the six-story, 276-room hotel built on the site in 1974, which closed after Hurricane Helene in 2024 and is to be demolished. The design keeps public access to the Courtney Campbell Trail, threads internal walkways and landscaping between the towers, retains the existing seawall and explores beach renourishment along the shoreline, and commits to LEED Silver and buried utilities as part of a city bonus agreement.
