The Flatiron Building, Daniel Burnham's 1902 Beaux-Arts landmark at the wedge of Fifth Avenue and Broadway, is being reborn as a collection of private residences. The Brodsky Organization and the Sorgente Group are converting the 22-story triangular tower into 38 condominiums, with SLCE Architects as executive architect and interiors by Studio Sofield that draw on original ironwork, railings, and marble mosaics uncovered during the restoration. Expansive great rooms and full-floor and duplex layouts trace the building's dramatic prow, and for the first time the facade is set to be illuminated at night.
